Publish a marketing funnel through a shared verified workflow

Let marketers create a branded funnel while a maintained deployment process connects lead capture, analytics, tests, and release review.

6 implementation stepsAdvanced

How this works

Let marketers create a branded funnel while a maintained deployment process connects lead capture, analytics, tests, and release review. A branded funnel is complete only when the visitor can act and the resulting lead and analytics records arrive correctly. A visual prototype, successful build, or deployed page alone does not prove that commercial workflow works.

Use the maintained design and implementation conventions to build a bounded funnel. Connect approved lead and analytics integrations, test complete visitor journeys, and reconcile actual receipts. Keep the release candidate separate from permission to deploy or send traffic.

Before you start

Funnel brief

Define the offer, audience, visitor action, and required states.

Maintained project

Use the existing repository, design system, and deployment path.

Integration contracts

Specify lead destination, event schema, and ownership.

Prepare the inputs

design_spec
Required

Approved layout and copy

Preserve required claims and disclosures.

journey_map
Required

Visitor states

Include invalid input, errors, and success.

lead_schema
Required

Field contract

Require only necessary data and explicit validation.

analytics_plan
Required

Event definitions

Separate clicks, submissions, and confirmed leads.

release_scope
Required

Environment and permissions

Identify whether work stops at a local candidate.

Implementation, step by step

  1. Translate the design into behavior

    • Map each visible control to a state transition and expected result.
    • Identify missing error, empty, loading, and success states before implementation.

    Checkpoint: A functional acceptance brief.

  2. Build within the maintained project

    • Reuse the actual design system and available dependencies.
    • Keep changes bounded to the funnel and preserve unrelated product behavior.

    Checkpoint: A runnable implementation.

  3. Connect lead handling

    • Validate inputs and map them to the configured destination.
    • Use a safe test path or fixture when production writes are not authorized.

    Checkpoint: A verifiable submission flow.

  4. Connect analytics

    • Emit events at the actual user milestones and include deduplication identifiers where appropriate.
    • Avoid logging sensitive form content as analytics payload.

    Checkpoint: A checked event path.

  5. Test complete journeys

    • Exercise normal, invalid, duplicate, delayed, and failed submissions on desktop and mobile.
    • Reconcile visible success with the lead receipt and expected analytics event.

    Checkpoint: An end-to-end verification record.

  6. Prepare and verify release

    • Present the tested candidate for the authorized deployment step.
    • After an approved deployment, verify the live page, integration receipt, and actual version before traffic.

Checkpoint: A release record with evidence.

Decisions along the way

Lead endpoint is unavailable

Show honest failure and preserve a safe retry path.

Analytics fails but the lead succeeds

Avoid duplicate lead creation; record measurement degradation separately.

The design lacks a required consent state

Resolve it in the brief before launch.

What you will produce

Project changes

A bounded implementation ready for review.

funnel-verification.md

Markdown

Proves specific tested paths.

Include: journey · expected · observed · lead_receipt · event_receipt · environment

Check the result

  • Verify successful UI states correspond to actual lead receipts.
  • Check duplicate submission behavior.
  • Test small-screen overflow and keyboard navigation.
  • Confirm no test data or private configuration is exposed in the build.

When something goes wrong

Build passes but submission fails

Fix the integration and rerun the complete journey.

Deployment status is unclear

Inspect the deployment receipt before retrying release.

Event counts duplicate on refresh

Correct event timing and deduplication before measurement.

A worked example

SYNTHETIC EXAMPLE · NOT A REPORTED BUSINESS RESULT

Request

Implement a workshop signup funnel.

Inputs

Synthetic example. Synthetic valid form submits an email and workshop ID; the lead endpoint returns an error while analytics records a click.

Expected result

Synthetic expected result. The page must not show Registration complete. The test report distinguishes the click event from a missing lead receipt.

Run a small pilot

Start small

One offer and one complete registration path.

Record the baseline

Record current completion, error, and lead-delivery behavior.

Agree success criteria

Agree functional and data-delivery acceptance criteria before traffic.

Stop or revise

Stop release or traffic when leads are lost or success states are misleading.

Keep the scope clear

  • Building a funnel does not authorize deployment, advertising spend, or outbound messages.
  • Use existing approved integrations or a clearly labeled file-based handoff.

Check before using

Check real lead delivery, analytics events, mobile behavior, and production settings. Team training and maintained procedures are needed beyond the initial prototype.

Business activities

  • Run advertising and acquisition tests
  • Build and change software

Plays is a curated library of anonymized business workflows. Each recipe explains the inputs, steps, tools, and checks you can adapt to your team. These are editorial guides, not independently tested implementations.

When you share a company website, the guide may read a limited number of public pages on that website. Messages and retrieved page text are sent to our AI provider, NVIDIA, to recommend relevant workflows. Share a general description rather than confidential information.

Saved workflows and selected activities stay in this browser. Your chat history and selected company website are kept in this tab and cleared when you reload or start a new chat. The server does not store conversations. Live source monitoring is not enabled.

If you allow analytics, PostHog receives page views and actions such as workflow saves, skill downloads and link clicks. Random browser and session identifiers connect these actions without identifying you by name. Your choice and browser identifier expire after 90 days; sessions restart after 30 minutes of inactivity or 24 hours. We use local storage, not analytics cookies. Messages, company URLs, search text, full referrers and IP addresses are not sent. There are no person profiles or session recordings. You can decline or withdraw in Analytics settings; Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control keep analytics off.
